Life of Brian
by berrygerry ini was a younger dub at the time of this release, and stopped watching this movie near its beginning, when john cleese was stoned with the huge rock for saying jehovah.. this was despite having been (and continuing to be) a major john cleese (and monty python) fan.. any fans of this film?.

How to wind up a JW
by slimboyfat intell him that jesus probably didn't get married or it would have mentioned it in the bible, but at the same time we can't be 100% sure he didn't get married because it doesn't specifically say he didn't get married.
stand back watch fireworks.. i thought it was a pretty reasonable thing to say.

why make it complicated ?
ask them if they've heard of rutherford.
if they have ( unlikely )---ask which cult name he invented--and---when.

How long can this cult remain with only kids becoming members?
by Crazyguy init's become clear that very few from outside the religion are joining anymore.
if only the kids of the people that are already in are the one replacing the members as they die off and 50% let's say of the kids leave then how long can they realistically last before the downturn becomes obvious?.

the watchtower needs to realise its greatest human resource--are the young females !. they are the ones who trap the young males into marriage--in order to have sex. left to their own inclinations most young single males will go elsewhere for it--and never return.

i fully understand your frustration with our legal system, Kate.
i know my son wasted £1000's on legal costs fighting for access to his 2 kids. mostly to no avail.
if you turn up for your access visit--and theyve gone out--nothing much you can do about it. i had enough of it 30 years ago.

Should I stay married to my JW wife
by gatorguy inme and my wife were at the beach the other day and i finally told her, i don't think i believe in god anymore.
i fessed up to the fact that it started with me doubting some jw beliefs and then it just led me to this point where i don't even believe in god.
i wouldn't say that i even have a negative view towards jw's or religion in general.

I think I'd just lay it all out on the table for her and see how the chips fall. She will then have the choice of you or the cult and the decision may be made for you.
my thoughts exactly.
i married my 3rd generation born in wife when i was 20. i decided i'd had enough religion by the time i was 23. the marriage lingered for another 10 years and produced 3 kids. i then--stupidly--got involved in an affaire and wifey divorced me " on scriptural grounds" almost before my feet were back on the ground. she had wanted out of the marriage for years !.

For those who are still in... What do you do about field service?
by Wait For It infor those of you who are still in because of family circumstances, what do you do about field service?

@ wait for it.....why would you be d/f for not going door knocking? Just decline any offer to take you. And if the elders want to meet with you...just refer them to your husband..as you head. Let him take all the pressure...and if he wants to pass it on to you..well I,m sure you can think of ways to win him over.

What a farce!
Just stop faking it. In the case of the OP....what's the worst that can happen?
